None available in Akihabara Tokyo Japan this morning....
And so far I havent seen any on the online site here either.

What a deception, even worse the shopkeepers have no idea when they will have them in stock.
For a place where I was able to buy my Quad Core on launch day, that is really disappointing.

Fancy going down and taking some snaps of what is hot on the shelves and posting it up for us?

Ebuyer also have Zotac and Inno3d cards in stock.

edit.. no they don't - they say 'in stock' on one page but when you click on them it says 'for pre-order'.

DR, might do that tomorrow morning

I just found out that the cards are going on sale tomorrow and not today as one could have expected.

Zotac and Inno3D card seems to be on sale tomorrow at T-ZONE.

Sorry DR, no photos. But you can see some there:

www watch impress co jp /akiba /hotline /20080621 /etc_nvidia html
you will have to put the points yourself

But I got a Zotac GTX280 card and it seems to be running fine.
    Price: 83280 Yen (tax inc).

I arrived 5 min after the opening and 2 of the cards they advertised were already sold out.
There was only 2 or 3 left after I left...

My guess is that the stock is pretty limited here too.
    Now let's test the beast

DR: Contact me by email, it seems that I can't answer your pm

Re: Headlines - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280 post-launch pricing comparison

Just to let you know that we didn't get enough information etc before the launch and offered to meet with them in London (approx 700 metres from our main store) 2 days ago

They were very shy and mumbled something about not being certain what the focus of their lunch event was and if they were actually talking to all of the players in the market or just a select few

    Hmmm...

Anyway, I can report that one of our chaps is in a secret location, speaking with a different graphics vendor and is, apparently, having 'his socks blown off' by what he is hearing/seeing/touching/feeling

He won't say more that that, but promises to come back very soon with 'the secret of the blown-off socks'
