Anyone actually found any content available on there yet?

Everything I try comes up as unavailable.

Any extra resolution is a good move. The full screen option scales horribly when using fullscreen on a 22" monitor.

I wonder how many people, or what percentage of BBC viewers actually sit in front of their computer to watch programs. I couldn't think of anything more annoying.

We use BT vision for all our on demand content which works for me, but I couldn't sit down at my desk and watch 30 minutes of program in a small box, whats the point....

I do, cause my mum is always watching CSI, True CSI, Without a Trace, Grand Designs or some Gardening tat.. I used it to watch the Apprentice and the quality was good. Seems like the Beta site has higher resolution videos

You can always use their software to download the program for higher quality viewing. It must be quite a large percentage of people if it made ISP's chase BBC for money for using the Internet to distribute their content.

    "Annoying" in what way?

If you have your PC hooked up to a decent sized monitor, i.e. 24"+ - as many of us do these days... it's perfectly acceptable (IMO)

Re: Headlines - BBC launches beta version of all-new iPlayer 2.0

virgin made the mvoe to replace their catch up tv for bbc with the bbci player, waste of time if you ask me as the interface is bad and searching is just a joke, sorry but our remote doesnt have the letters on the pads like a mobile does so why should i be expected to guess? it has alot less programs on it compared to the normal now, songs of praise is always there but more viewed programs are not.

    *end of rant*

Internet side is great except the poor quality of fullscreen, so bad i cant watch it on my 22". Will check this out now though, hopeing its good.

edit: just had a quick look at topgear and it doesnt look like they actually improved the quality, it seems they just stretched it and fullscreen is horrible to watch. Sorry but i only watch it if its important which it isnt normaly so till they up the res i guess this beta fails for me.

I guess I've watched it so much I've learned to live with the low quality

Although you should check the beta one as I notice it's much clearer.

Just checked on my iPhone. Go to the same link in the post (bbc.co.uk/iplayerbeta/ and you get taken to the mobile site.

Still think I've cut myself off from using the service since I jailbroke/did something to my iPhone though.

    Oh well, new one soon

The new 'Moblie' site is amazing... much better than the old one. Works on iPhone, not sure about anything else though

It works for me. TBH if the program is interesting I can cope with poor picture quality. HD is irrelevant when you get absorbed in a program.
I wonder how some of you would have coped in the days of black and white tvs and set top arials.
