So long as they keep the 701-type range at 701-type prices, I've no problems. It's been such a success it was always going to end up as a brand within itself anyway.

So long as they keep in models from £200 and continue to sell models for all budgets and desires then I see little problem with them introducing high end models...

If people have the money to spend then they are free to buy whatever product they like!

The usual idiotic troll post proclaiming that the EEE range is pointless because Dell sell a £250 Vostro will crop up very soon no doubt...

It's just a shame you can't actually buy them as there seems to be only 3 people working in the factories making them and 5000 designing them.

You could say the same about the VAIO brand, but it's been a relative success considering since inception it's been staggeringly overpriced. Brand is everything. I just don't think the Eee brand has been around long enough for them to build on it in the way they seem to be trying.

I personally think this is a bad idea and they should keep the eee brand for their lower end market otherwise it's going to get confusing for a lot of people very quickly. You can't blame ASUS for wanting to promote the eee brand but I think they have lost their focus with it.
