Re: News - abit exits mainboard market - confirmed

That is a real shame. I've had Abit boards since I started building PCs on my own and other than the weird FP-IN9 (due to the 650i chipset) they have all been good and lasted years.

Here's hoping that Abit make a return one day...

    Abit will absolutely be missed

Quality boards and service, fair prices on the whole, they are certainly a loss.

The only other boards I really like are Asus and their support is terrible..

I've never had the opportunity to use an Abit mobo but it's a real shame to have an influential player leave the sector, as mentioned above, for competition sake it's not good.

Not good, but ASUS were always the bigger company and they will continue to dominate in this field.

    Terrible news

Abit have made so many great boards. The lack of competition can only be bad for the consumer.

It's certainly a possibility as it's a cutthroat market but I think that I'll wait for an official confirmation.
Would seem a waste of the brand name/recognition though.

Problem with ABIt was their mid to high end boards were over prices for what they were. Yes their high end boards were good, but no better than other makers high end boards.

Money is made in the mid and low end market and Abit's boards were generally uninteresting or special.

So who's next to go.... DFI perhaps?
