HEXUS.winners win4FREE competitions: GeForce 9-series graphics cards up for grabs!

That's right, it's competition time - again! HEXUS and Inno3D have teamed up to offer our readers the opportunity to win one of two pre-overclocked GeForce 9-series graphics cards.

The grand prize is an Inno3D GeForce 9800 GTX OC - a card featuring a core speed of 720MHz and 512MB of GDDR3 memory clocked at 2,300MHz.

The not-too-shabby runner-up prize is an Inno3D GeForce 9800 GT iChiLL - featuring a core speed of 700MHz, 512MB of GDDR3 clocked at 2,000MHz, and an Accelero Twin Turbo cooler.

However, seeing as we're giving away so much lately, and so easily, we've decided to make this one a little tougher - so get your thinking caps on!

In order to enter the competition, we're asking HEXUS readers to take a photo with an "iChiLL" theme and post it in our community forum. The two "coolest" pictures will be crowned winners.

It's a little more tricky, and we've got a few additional rules:

    • Your photo must have been taken by you personally and some form of proof should be included in the photo
    • Your photo should not contain offensive material - any such images will be removed and you will be barred from the competition
    • Your photo should be a maximum of 640x480 pixels in size
    • Your photo must not be heavily-altered using any software programs, though simple tasks such as adjust brightness, cropping and adding text are acceptable
    • Please try to post only one photo entry. If multiple photos are posted, only the first photo will be taken into consideration

That's about it! We're going to pick the most creative photos as our winners, so start thinking cold. As a little example, here's a possible photo entry that we prepared earlier:

That's all there is to it! We won't be accepting e-mail entries for this one, photos must be posted in this thread by no later than September 28th 2008.

So, what are you waiting for? Get snapping and post your picture! Good luck, everyone, we'll be picking the winners soon after the competition closes.

    Rules and Regulations
    • The competition winners will be picked on merit of creative effort from all eligible entries that arrive by midnight of the closing date, September 28th 2008
    • Competition entries are only applicable via the HEXUS.net community forums
    • In event of any dispute, the judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into
    • Only one entry is permitted per household. The winner will be notified by email no later than 14 days after the closing date
    • The grand prize is an Inno3D GeForce 9800 GTX OC, the runner-up prize is an Inno3D GeForce 9800 GT iChiLL
    • HEXUS.net will do everything to ensure a speedy delivery of your prize, but we cannot guarantee a delivery date
    • In the event that the prize offered is unavailable due to circumstances beyond our control, we reserve the right to offer an alternative prize of equal or greater specification
    • Competitions are open to residents in the UK who are over 12 years of age
    • Entrants can be assured that no details will be kept on file or re-distributed
    • Prize Draws are not open to employees of HEXUS.net and their affiliates, agencies, suppliers, sponsors and members employees' immediate families
    • Submission of an entry will be taken to mean acceptance of these terms and conditions

To the family photos from our ski holoday............................................................................................. .....................lapland - wooo -

A freezing night at lapland, when our family went on the dog sleds. The snow/fogg shows just how cold the graphics cards are, and the speed, and blureyness shows the speed of the cards (as they are all overclocked).

Little bit of text added using photo impact, but without is below:

Photo taken in 2005 by my mother, with my brothers and I in the sled, and father driving.

edit: changed to my original idea (The Jambo put something in ice first...):

    think of it as:

    Cold hard cash!
    or
    Freezing your assets.

and proof that it is actually frozen and not just plonked ontop...

i need a decent camera... out of 50+ shots... these were the best...

and my £50 better have thawed out soon

/me hopes the money is still usable...

Re: HEXUS.winners win4FREE competitions: GeForce 9-series graphics cards up for grabs

Just wondering, does an added caption count as heavily altered?

    I'll include both incase though.

I not only froze it, but i also had to cut it up a little, since it wouldn't fit in the freezing box thing.

Heh, I think you should just be able to recognise the ATI logo in the middle there.

Is everyone forgetting about the proof that you took it rule? taktak is the only one that has done this so far

my bold. It looks to me like the proof is optional, but I have the original image which I took in my Lightroom archive if proof is needed.

I took my pic myself, but a good 2 years ago. I have another which I'd rather like to submit, but I'm not clear if the rules allow multiple entries.

Re: HEXUS.winners win4FREE competitions: GeForce 9-series graphics cards up for grabs

Well, if I'm asked for proof, I have about 20 other shots, of the same item, and of course the card itself, which is unique since i had to cut it up.

I've updated the rules to make it a touch clearer; proof should be included and text added to images is fine

Okay, so that did involve multiple photos to create... but I wasn't about to lie down and pile ice on my face.

First photo can be found here if you want proof.
If you can't keep up, stick with reality...
