I couldnt remember if Champ was the good one or not, since all the name-change doo-dadery a few years back.

Re: First looks - Championship Manager 09 - PC

Eidos Decided they didnt need SIgames so took the name and SIgames took the database.

EIDOS set up their own studio to make the game whilst SIGames carried on and managed to get the Name football manager as a nod to the original footy management game back on the c64. Now Sigames keep brining out great games with Sega behind them whilst EIDOS have struggled a bit of late.

Football manager 2009 should be out in the next few weeks and also has a 3d enginer and lots of cool features Suffice to say I`ll be wasting a huge chunk of my life playing it again hehe

Can't wait till FM09, used to play Champ Man till the big split, have never played since.

The 3D engine should revolutionise the game i reckon. Can't wait to get Luton Town into the Prem!

Re: First looks - Championship Manager 09 - PC

I played Football Manager 08 for a bit on a friend's PC, but oddly it was stuck at 1024 x 768 resolution. Really weird, no options in the game menu or anything.

It was easily fixed, start the game in windowed mode and then maximise and the resolution would match your desktop.
Last years game was a bit of a let down, the devs themselves admitted there was a problem with how players delt with confidence or lack there of. So if you got in a rut it was very difficult to get out.
    Expecting better this year though.
