I'm still not sure if LBP has any actual game content

It seems more like facebook with a jump button than anything else

And Sony ought to be aware that the market is overflowing with games right now, in the middle of a financial situation. It's hard to justify buying your number-3 or number-4 pick

True, most people have a number of games on their wishlist at the moment and don't have the cash to buy their lower choices.

LBP has been reduced on play.com to £30, presumably to boost sales.

At the end of the day it doesn't matter if 1 million sales gets you #1 on the charts or #19 - it's still a million sales.

not from an economics perspective, you have to factor in the 'cost' of missed oppertunities.

Despite the hype, I don't see the game being a console seller. Plus, it's not the type of game I'd typically associate with a Sony console or the types who'd buy a PS3. Shame it's PS3 exclusive really, I wouldn't mind trying it on my 360 or my Wii.

I've enjoyed what I've played of it, so far it's definitely very laid back at least in the early stages. Not tried making anything myself yet I'm leaving that until I've played some more of the story mode.

If the Wii had a hard drive to store levels etc. on that would be a brilliant combination imo.

I love how Sony is pointing the finger at anything but itself. I lost interest in LBP when they started deleting whatever they claimed was copyright infringing, what's the point in a creative platform that means hours of your work is easily lost because of someone else's standards.

They knew it was going to be a busy season yet they rushed release anyway.

If the PS3 was a little cheaper then maybe but to be honest I am sticking with my 360 its done everything I have needed it to do. I think Sony need to have a big rethink on how its doing things.

Re: News - Little Big Planet sales flop - a cause for concern for Sony?

I think Sony have shot themselves in the feet this Christmas.

The stream of A-Rated titles just released on the 360 has easily shot down any hopes of Sony making a big impact this holiday. That combined with the fact you can get a 360 for just a smidge over £100 in some places makes the 360 the strongest contender this winter.
Sounds like the Big-N aren't doing too well regarding sales either.

Re: News - Little Big Planet sales flop - a cause for concern for Sony?

I managed to get a beta code for LBP to see what all the fuss was about. After playing it did I understand what its about, nothing I read really made sense to me. However its on my Christmas wishlist. I have too many games to play and clock first!!

like what? fable 2 and gow2? ps3 has resistance 2(halo for the ps3), and this game that where talking about.

besides that, most AA games are in both systems. i say ps3 aint doing too badly

Re: News - Little Big Planet sales flop - a cause for concern for Sony?

thats kind of the problem though for the ps3, the majority of people went out and bought a 360 because it was the new console and now we have both ps3 and 360 the majority will surely just stick with their 360's because most games are out on both and identical so theres no point getting a new console. i really hate to say it and please dont think im a fanboy because id get a ps3 if there was enough ps3 only games but i cant really see the point in the ps3's existance right now and i dont know of anything worthwhile coming out, i know theres one or two good ps3 games but that simply isnt enough to warrant the console, lets see what happens though

the first one good great reviews and the 2nd one looks even better. 60 players online with no lag apparently. 8 co op story mode. what more do you want

i admit i only got a ps3 because my 360 kept breaking. had it been reliable as steel, i would of not bothered with a ps3 tbh

im still really looking forward to killzone 2, heavy rain, god of war 3, uncharted 2 - which is more than enough reason for me to have a ps3. especially as i am still enjoying metal gear 4, little big planet, folklore, uncharted and oblivion!
im not trying to start a flame war or bash the xbox but the only game that i know of on the 360's most anticipated list is alan wake.. which i will just get for the pc
i was going to get a 360 again but it doesnt seem worth it just for fable 2 - which i hope will get a pc release anyway

yea exatcly. you wont be dissapointed in having a ps3. their are many exclusive games coming out for it has noted above. games that a few 360 fans would love to have been on their console.

btw how much do i have to pay additionally if i traded in my premium console without the hdd with a core 360?
