Display vendor has all but pulled out of Europe in the past year, but are things about to change?

Thats actually quite a large workforce they have there, its pretty normal to only have a single country manager on a mobile. Support is normally contracted out to a third party logistics/repair company.

I'd be sad to lose Viewsonic from Europe; they've always been solid manufacturers, and the last 22" I bought for work from them was just sumptuous. End user was thrilled with it.

Re: Analysis - Viewsonic reduced to skeleton staff in Europe

I've always had a soft spot for Viewsonic. Had a 19" LCD from them that my mom now has, still impressed with it whenever I go round there. Also got a 20" that is on my bedroom wall. The viewing angle isn't great, but it was a very good value panel at the time.

Re: Analysis - Viewsonic reduced to skeleton staff in Europe

Same here, it'd be a shame not to have ViewSonic in Europe. I'm using a ViewSonic screen right now - coming up to four years old and still great. Fully rotatable, only one stuck pixel, good colours and decent blacks. It still looks the part too, with it's simple, slim bezel and unfussy stand, compared to the more heavily styled competitors which look out of date quicker. I've had ViewSonic screens before this one, and have always been happy with them. I hope ViewSonic still have something to offer us in this part of the world when I buy my next screen.

Smile Re: Analysis - Viewsonic reduced to skeleton staff in Europe

Think I'm another satisfied Viewsonic customer - bought a VX922 some time ago from Watford Electronics. Okay, I've got one stuck green pixel, (and the buying experience from WE was pretty awful), but apart from that the monitor itself has been pretty solid and definitely a good buy.

Okay, it would have been nice - in hindsight - to have 16:9 rather than 4:3 aspect, but it's a good clear picture and a doddle to operate. Much better than the Sammy I bought recently for one of my kids.

So I hope they do keep trading in the UK - and I commiserate with the poor folks that have been P45'd recently. :'(

My dad has still got his 17" Viewsonic CRT.

Was one of the best at the time for been able to do a high frequency, making it feel less flickery.
