Might want to edit the title to $30m

Bit of a difference between $30 and $30,000,000 don't you think

I'd like to think MS would snap this studio up at a price like that.. but they way money problems are and the fact they've recently been trimming the fat from their other studios it might not happen. Might be good to help bolster some first party support.

    Why?

Who wants to buy a company whose doesn't really have any IP that is currently good that people instantly associate?

Mortal Kombat? The game died a long time ago IMO (sub zero chronicles)

Wheelman? Cheap transporter knock off without any legacy to it

I'm really stuck for more IPs they have.

Re: News - Midway up for sale for $30m

Why do they need an old IP to beat to death, ala mortal kombat... get them on something fresh... Compared to the sum they paid for Rare getting Midway to work on a new IP isn't as much of a risk. If I was in MS's shoes and the 30mill was there to spend i'd give it a crack.

But Rare had IP in the form of a new game for a relatively unknown IP in Perfect Dark, Viva Pinata etc...

Midway had Wheelman......hardly a good game as it looks like a film tie in

An 'old' IP is something that provides instant brand association:
    Mario: Nintendo
    Sonic: Sega
    Snake: Sony
    Gran turismo: sony
Forza, halo, age of empires: MS
    Goldeneye: Rare/nintendo

Re: News - Midway up for sale for $30m

I understand that....and i agree i honestly thought Wheelman was a film tie in as i heard vin diesel had a new film coming out (turned out to be fast and furious)...
but 30mill for a studio is pretty decent and i'm saying it could be worth them now carving out a new identity under a new owner.?
