Depends on who you mean and what kinda piercings you mean, ear piercing is now now really unless you stretch it or have some kinda industrial project as so many people have got their ear pierced, I'll freely admit that my lobe piercings don't mean a great deal to me, i had em because i was bored and fancied gettin em done.

Scallies you see with eye-brow piercings and madonna/monroe pirecings (quite possibly the nastiest piercing ever imo) get it to look hard or fashionable. Alot of the people i know didn't do it to be individual or special they did it because they thought it'd look good or they'd wanted it done for a while.

I have a Prince Albert & a Frenham Ladder and I work internationally. Never been a problem yet at an airport.

handheld scanners go off in airports over piercings but not the big walkthru jobs.

i personally prefer a central labret piercing to a side one, but each to their own

re: individuality - depends what you get pierced. i've never met another person with a cartilidge orbital, so its pretty unique. the other piercings i still have are subtle (nipple/tongue) - i used to have labret and eyebrow (twice) but took them out to get a job.

I had my eyebrow done for 4 years but took it out 'cause it made me look too much like a towny. I also had my ear done but got rid of that. Just the two lip piercings now
