hmmm, Atom 330 eh? That'll be the one without speedstep, meaning it'll run at its full rated clockspeed even when it's idle, then? That's not going to help the battery life. Also, 1.5Kg *without* the battery? Not particularly light-weight then (although not particularly heavy, either). Seems in a bit of no-mans land.
I'll wait to see the price, but I suspect it won't be enough of any one thing to win many people over...
It's definitely going to be £400+ territory methinks.
Sounds like it's getting well and truely into regular laptop area for me.
The funny thing is that we all (most of us) tend to be really down on Celeron processors, however if you swapped the Atom for a Celery it'd be a much more powerful machine, and surely not that much more expensive (£10??).
The Atom should be in machines of £250 and under, i reckon.

I like the spec... but the price will be the decider.
QFT, and agree with the comments re: battery life. A dual-core Atom makes sense, but only in a genuinely mobile form.
Well yes but the 90m battery life of some current netbooks isnt great and if people can live with bringing their charger wherever they go then some may not be that fussed if an inefficient dual core Ion only has the same sorta battery life....
Just a thought...
I may well be interested in one of these... the Ion/330 combo seems to play some basic games quite well (some videos on YouTube of the Asrock 330 show COD4 and CS:S)
People'll put up with crappy three cell batteries in machines at around the £200-250 mark. Once things go North of £300 - which this certainly will - different expectations apply. Indeed, some people may only buy at all if there's decent battery life; my other half wouldn't have shelled out £199 for a 3-cell Aspire One A110/150 because the battery was so useless, but she barely batted an eye at shelling out £100 more for the D150 with a 6-cell. It's also noticeable that she doesn't have to drag her charger around with that.
Netbooks have become a progressive fail if you ask me.
As far as I can work out, a netbook now is just a stealth way of trying to sell you a crap small PC for a lot of money.
Price is very much the factor. If it can come in at the same price as the current Netbooks then wicked but any more and its compete with small laptops that are more powerful.
