That's a lot of information to lose in your pocket
The speeds are quite slow, but I suppose you can't just fill it at once, so they're bearable. But now I don't see a point in portable HDDs, though. These may be cheaper for a while, but otherwise..

I believe with these large flash drives (128Gb and up), the benefits of having USB 3 interface really starts coming into play, but inevitably that won't be available for a while ..maybe 18 months? A 256GB with USB 3 just seems more viable to me in time.
For USB3 it also needs to actually be fast enough to take advantage of it. This one doesn't even max out USB2.
Even at full speed it would take well over 7 hours to fill itpainfully slow!

it's £650! with that money you could get eight 1.5tb drives and still have enough money for a couple of pints and a fish supper! sure the drives won't fit in your pocket, but they would fit in a tesco carrier bag no problem
who the hell would pay £650 for that? you could get a well specced laptop for that money

Considering you can buy the new Corsair 256GB SSD for half that, I'd rather use one of those with a SATA>USB converter.Originally Posted by uni
