That's a lot of information to lose in your pocket
The speeds are quite slow, but I suppose you can't just fill it at once, so they're bearable. But now I don't see a point in portable HDDs, though. These may be cheaper for a while, but otherwise..

I believe with these large flash drives (128Gb and up), the benefits of having USB 3 interface really starts coming into play, but inevitably that won't be available for a while ..maybe 18 months? A 256GB with USB 3 just seems more viable to me in time.
Even at full speed it would take well over 7 hours to fill it painfully slow!

it's £650! with that money you could get eight 1.5tb drives and still have enough money for a couple of pints and a fish supper! sure the drives won't fit in your pocket, but they would fit in a tesco carrier bag no problem
who the hell would pay £650 for that? you could get a well specced laptop for that money
