Surprised Apple didn't try to supress this story, as the did some weeks ago with a similar incident.
Frankly for the money you pay, you would expect the phone not to try kill you at least.
I don't think it was copy and paste, think it was the over heating - you can't use them in direct sunlight you know.
Maybe it was just a build up of smug then...?
Mind you, most Macs would've gone nuclear by now if that were the case.

Ahh.... this worries me as I was planning to upgrade my 3G to a 3GS... if it's gonna explode on me, that would not be a profitable decision.

I reckon they ran a GPS thing on it, the iPhone became briefly sentient, realised it was in France, and did the only sensible thing.
Perhaps the owner came into contact with a PC and the Apple product exploded in a fit of jealousy?
