Are family pack's upgrade licences or full?

I mean, a family pack of 3 full licences for the same price as a single full....

While Microsoft are bad when it comes to the whole exchange rate thing Adobe are far, far worse charging, in most cases a 1$=£1 or in the worst case I've seen where the pound is worth less than the dollar (eg the CS4 Masters Collection via Amazon, UK and US, is $2,231.49 in the US while in old blighty it's going for £2449.21). These companies are now simple extracting the urine (I believe it's actually worse in some mainland EU countries).

That's the additional added onto web site design in order to get around the IE "features"

I picked up a couple of preorders @ £45 each, looking at that I think it was the right move!

I cancelled Windows 7 completely, it offers nothing over what I have now in Vista Ultimate x64. I don't need the newer task bar and I certainly don't need the likes of bit locker and xp support. I will go win7 when I get a new pc in a few years time

Re: News - Making sense of Microsoft's Windows 7 pricing, again

Is it me or are Microsoft being a bit silly. Everything else needed for building a PC has been dropping in price for years. I can now build a PC for a third of the price than it cost when XP came out yet Windows appears to be the only component not dropping in price (even office is cheaper). It even worse when you see that OS X has got cheaper. Come on MS price competitively!

Same i don't see the point in upgrading until i build a new pc.

I assume these prices are retail and we can expect the OEM one's to be cheaper like Vista was.

hmm. at 50quid each for 3... its worth me taking that deal. Wonder if Scan are going to sell it? I'd like to swap my preorder for a preorder for the 3pack if thats the deal.

Any Scan gurus know more etc?

Re: News - Making sense of Microsoft's Windows 7 pricing, again

£150 for 3 copies is indeed good value but my understanding is that it is for 3x *upgrades* to Win 7. The upgrade path seems messy to me and I'd much rather prefer clean installs, which this won't be able to do, as I understand it.

Can anyone please confirm or deny this? Thks

Are you both mental?!??!?!?! Windows 7 = WAY better than Vista, its just so much more responsive and enjoyable to use.

No constant thrashing of hard drives either, I have spent hours trying to stop my laptops hard drive going mental and flattening the battery in 2 hours on Vista.

Re: News - Making sense of Microsoft's Windows 7 pricing, again

Unfortunately I think the UK caught a break with Microsofts Pre-Order prices being VERY generous to the British Public (in regard to everybody else) ... but alas it seems that Microsoft have gone back to their tried and tested method of shafting the British Public with these revised deals - hell everybody else does it so why not??

Is it just me or are Microsoft moving away from upgrades; the £30 difference on the professional and ultimate packages make the upgrade route 'unatractive'?
