Looks a bit ugly. The Diamond 2 looks better and gets a free upgrade to 6.5.

Where's the design innovation? All we seem to be getting is brick after brick, I want a dual touch screen clam shell (preferably with automatic answer/finish call when you open/close it) that has multiple uses for the screens i.e. a numeric key pad for making calls, a keyboard for texting, a second interactive display, etc.... all we seem to be getting is i-phone clones (some say copying is the most sincere form of flattery it isn't, it's being lazy and that's why it's punished in schools/education). I might even get round to upgrading my (venerable) V620 if something like that was brought out.

Re: News - HTC launches Touch2 Windows Phone

dual touch screens in a clamshell is either going to be massive and expensive, or each screen will probably end up too small to be worth it.

it would appear people want large touch screens, there is a limit to what you can do with that design wise.

Re: News - HTC launches Touch2 Windows Phone

My comment about the i-phone clone is about the general design. Since the i-phone landed with a nice simple design that isn't cluttered with buttons galore every manufacturer has gone hell bent on trying to replicate the desirability of the i-phone without seemingly understanding what makes the i-phone such a 'me want' phone. As such we keep getting the same old designs with minor tweaks and no real design innovation (it's getting to the point that I can't tell the difference between Samsung's latest models without looking at the spec sheet, same goes for LG units for the most part).

As for the clam shell design, you're probably right about the whole size/cost thing, I guess that I'll just have to wait for flexible touch screens to be developed (to get a single continuous screen across the phone).

the design of it is incredibly similar to the touch HD i have in my pocket.

Far more similar to that in fact than the iPhone, so much so i would call this a 'refresh' without knowing what has been enhanced internally.

As this is HTC I assume they haven't bothered to put any form of flash/led on the back? *sigh*
Exactly how is the different to the Touch HD?

Cant see the point of this model, not unless its really cheap. Screen res is crap compared to the TD2, what an odd thing to release.
