    Is it just me or are laptops getting dearer and becoming less worth it for the amount you pay. I got one 2 years ago with a 1.66 C2D and 1GB RAM, 120GB HDD, Ati X200M gfx chipset and that was around £450 and at the time was a powerful piece of machinery for the price i thought. Now i find laptop prices laughable for what id class as reasonable (im not expecting them to play Crysis) and spending £450 now wouldnt get you same performance as back then i dont feel.

    for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

    There's a mistake regarding the model codes for the two mentioned. It should be:

    * X600-055UK – comes with 500HDD, a CULV SU9600 and an optical drive – £799
    * X600-067UK – comes with 320HDD and a ULV SU2700 – £599 (no optical drive)

    I think you missed the point, this one is very slim ;-)

    I think that's a pretty tasty machine, I personally like smaller ones... but it's one I might tell other people to look at.

    There's always the Acer Aspire 3810 TG

    This is pretty much comparable to the Acer Aspire 5810TG in both specs and price, but with a higher res display panel, so it seems like a reasonable deal to me. The CULV Core 2 Duos are hella powerful, and with a decent battery you should be looking at 4 - 6 hours battery life for most usage...

    How about a 2GHz Dual core Athlon, 3GB RAM, 500GB HDD and Radeon 3200 graphics? Should be pretty nippy...
