I am not too bothered about the look, but I wonder how this compares to other Soundbars (namely a Yamaha one I've been looking). For those who aren't sure why one would bother with one, the simple answer is 'space'.

The old Philips soundbar was actually really good, so hopefully this one will be too!

I've got the Yamaha HTY750 and its very good. Its not exactly 5.1 (partly due to weird shape of my living room and ridiculous amount of furniture I have) but its much better then tv speakers. I've also seen the Philips ones (HTS6100 and Philips HTS8140) and both are impressive. Once again not exactly 5.1, unless you have square room with 4 perfectly flat walls.

How are Philips in terms of connectivity? I think that is one thing Yamaha seems to have on their side. The model I looked at had 3xHDMI on top of other options. Makes it easier to connect 3 consoles and a PC without a switch (not that I have 3 consoles).
