And another RTS game loses base building
My only concern is should I hide my true identity? A costume maybe?

C&C with no base - for me that is not C&C.

    I still miss my walls

I couldn't even be bothered to finish RA3, don't think I could give a monkey's about anything announced including the words Command & Conquer any more.

Being a former RA2 addict, I find that fairly disappointing.

RA2 was the last of the greats as far as I'm concerned. The garishness of RA3 destroyed any further interest I had. I might have said before, I have a horrible feeling the entire franchise is just being dumbed down for porting to consoles.

    Bring back Westwood Studios, please.

Iam actually looking forward to this as C&C3 was a great game. The only problem I found was the teams were alittle unbalanced at first but after a few patches was an awesome online game. From the early info it seems that EA has ditched the Scrin faction though which i thought is a big shame as they were the best bit of C&C 3!

RA3 was decent, Tiberium wars was better though. But no base building?! Thats criminal.

Re: EA Winter Showcase - Command and Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight

C&C without building bases is not a RTS but just another squad based system

I want to build bases, do loads of research and then plow through the opposition - is this too much to ask from a RTS now?

Dawn of War 2 was not up to the same standards as the previous DoW games I own and this is because they removed the building from it and made you control a squad.

Re: EA Winter Showcase - Command and Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight

I only joined the CNC crowd when Tiberium Wars was released (CNC3:TW), and I absolutely loved it. Same goes for Kane’s Wrath that was brilliant too, I sank many hours in KW. But then RA3 came along, and I wasn’t feeling it. It looked great, played great but I didn’t “get” it.

And now CNC4 just looks like CNC3 with new skins, and thanks to Hexus I’ve just found out that base building isn’t in this game – what the hell?!

Pah! The series went downhill after Tiberium Sun to be honest. It was the last truely balanced version.
