I should think the upcoming release of God of War 3 would help. I'll certianly be buying one for that game.

Don't the Sony figures NOT include Q4 2009 so they're actually higher than stated? Microsofts figures DO include this period so the gap should be smaller by now.

How many units did the 360 sell before the PS3 was released? There can't be much of a realistic difference anymore.

And how many people have more than one 360 due to being banned from XBL or RROD?

Also Gran Turismo 5 if it ever comes out.

PS3 is a better console than the 360. I dont understand why some people still go for the 360 - Lower price? HALO? Anything else?

Xbox Live is pretty tempting enough if you ask me. Microsoft completely own Sony in that area.

Yes the 27 million is until the end of September 2009 so the figures will be higher now.

Better online service, better games arguably (as in multiplatform titles are shown to be better on 360, look at oblivion as an example), cheaper games when multiplatform (Dirt 2, 360 £15, ps3 £30), more exclusives, indie games, party chat with the whole party among multiple games.

PS3 is a better HTPC, 360 is a better console.

Re: News - PS3 reaches new milestone in the UK

I think the game quality on the PS3 is better (Uncharted, R&C). Not to say there aren't a few gooduns on the 360 (GoW, Forza, Mass Effect). PSN vs Live? Depends what you want. Free? PS3. 2nd life Home? PS3. Back catalogue of 80s era arcade games? Live.

I also find the 360 menus confusing at times. The Sony XMB is far easier to understand IMO.

Re: News - PS3 reaches new milestone in the UK

If these PS3 hacks show to be true, apparently the guy is releasing the info this week I think we might see a hell of a lot more PS3's being sold

I moved from my 360 for that reason (after I got it back after a RROD!)

Never play online so PS3 is best for me if I ever decide to dabble.
    Multimedia capabilities/storage - no contest!
I don't notice the difference in quality of games, it's clear the 360 has sharper textures/better performance when looking at a eurogamer face-off but while playing...I don't really notice.
Exclusives - Never liked Halo/MMO/Driving, therefore nothing on the 360 grabbed my attention, now Uncharted 1/2, Killzone... wowzers!
Noise - I knew it would be quieter but wow, really it was like night & day.

I do miss the NXE though, it was much more friendly & the shopping/downloading side of things is wildly better than the PS3. 360 had nicer touches like auto synching of gamerscore (Sony WTF were you thinking with trophies not doing this?!)

The 360 is arguably the better 'games console' but I'm starting to think that for someone like me (late twenties, family man etc) the PS3 offers so much more. Perhaps now people are only starting to realise they want more than a games machine (which is still fine for the young un's!)

Re: News - PS3 reaches new milestone in the UK

There really isn't that much of a difference noise issue-wise - once you start playing a game you here that fan ramp up from its near silent start up and XMB mode, it does just sound like a 360 (game on HDD obv).
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

Well I can certainly notice it Much less of a constant hum to the PS3.

DVD playback is also quieter (again, for me)

Just blurting out things as they come to my mind :

Online service - you have to pay grrr. MS maintain the servers so that is a + for 360
    Better games - disagree
    Cheaper games - hmm ..
Exclusives - Damn MS bribing ..
    Party chat - +
