Hopefully it won't be unnecessarily resource hungry like its predecessor, I have high hopes for the sequel, its good they are putting more effort into the single player aspect too and hopefully they revamp the multiplayer gameplay too.
I do recall they will feature upgrades to units too instead of simple tiers 1-4 (T4 was exp units), so T1 won't be so useless in middle/later stages of the game.
As with above, lots of titles in 2010, more games than available time =.=
It was extremely hungry - that's why Chris Taylor is being very up front about Sup Comm 2 scaling much better because the design decisions they've taken. Don't get me wrong - I absolutely adored Sup Comm but when it originally came out it was beyond a heck of a lot of PCs.
"According to Taylor, a major goal for the team at Gas Powered was to create a high performance game, that will "run on 2, 3, 4 maybe 5 year old hardware." While Taylor admits the original title asked for a lot of processing power -- especially in later areas of the game -- the sequel will look better while actually using less polygons than units in the first Supreme Commander."
Weird, the pc I originally played it on was a bit better than the recommended spec (dual core, 2gb ram) and ran fine when I played it, did get slowdown on lots of units though
