How much? Save up another £400 and you get the 27" iMac with the same panel! Dell must think we are mugs. Oh well, that won't be my next monitor then.

Yep, the same LG one. However I don't think this one is LED backlit. Mind you with dells recent history of quality difficulties (the 2410 springs to mind) I could forsee similar problems.

Don't think its a gaming panel - shame really! Was looking for a nice over sized monitor

Why not £999? Surely that'd make much more sense?

Maybe that was the project price before the VAT rise?

Re: News - Dell's UltraSharp U2711 is the 27in monitor you've always wanted

It would need to be substantially cheaper to seem a realistic option in my eyes. 30" is just too close in terms of price.

looks like OCUK's going to get it for £938 inc VAT, just under £800 with VAT exclusion, I'll go ahead and say £150 less and I'd buy it

Just seen this. Seems a really good monitor. How well is 2560x1440 supported in games, etc?

Considering that 2048x1152 has been supported by virtually every game I've played over the last few months (even GTA Vice City and games of that era), I'd put my money on "fairly well".
