    Looks like they are finally starting to copy apple, producing hype about something that won't be of any use to 90% of users in its current state.

    Yeah, but at least that version would be able to do more than be a cash piñata for Apple to whack with the App Store stick.

    Couldn't agree more - although I'd really like to see:
    a. HP launch this at considerably less than crApple* want for their version, (£200-300 would be fine);
    b. Someone do a Linux distro that could really use it - I know for a fact that HP have the "skillz" within the company to do it, they just need the will.

    Unfortunately both a quite unlikely. Shame because a quick-on device for doing web stuff whilst standing up would be quite good (perching a netbook on my arm doesn't look good, and ain't comfortable on the train/bus)

    Interesting to see how a lot of the computer press are basically taking the line of "the iPad invents a new form factor/device" when patently it doesn't - there's been tablet PC's before now.

    [* excuse the anti-Apple bias - but their firmware has managed to brick my non-jailbroken iPod Touch for the third time in six months - where's the proof of the "our systems are really reliable because we have total control" b***sh*t? And don't get me started on Apple's "support"]

    Career status: still enjoying my new career in DevOps, but it's keeping me busy...
