This is just awesome Even taking away the iPhone aspect of it, just being able to hook it up to your laptop will be fantastic for presentations. I wonder how bright it is in a well lit room though... (couldn't seek to further in the video since my connection was too slow )

Wish it had a mini HDMI input however...

Re: News - Sapphire launches iPhone-compatible mini projector

My boss just bought something very similar back from China, bar it connecting to his laptop.

There crap for use on laptops due to the end image not being huge, and you need to be in a damned dark room for it to be easily visible and the projection isn't that big either probably about 19" sort of size..

for an iphone or other smart phone though it could be more use due to the limited screen size on the host device..

640x480 would suck a bit for PowerPoint slides wouldn't it? Video maybe OK...

Really had to do a double take on this when it appeared in my RSS inbox... looks like a GFX card that's grown legs... Quite cool tho, great how projectors are getting smaller and smaller.

Re: News - Sapphire launches iPhone-compatible mini projector

20,000 hours is not nine years!

    20,000 / 24 = 833.33 days

    833.33 / 365 = 2.28 years...

So the bulb lasts 2 years and a couple of months of continual use. Rare to use anything 24/7 but someone will and get a shock in a couple of years!
