That's the first drive to really go head to head with an intel .. and come out even.
no vertex LE ? this is just above or below the c300 in most benchies
I would love to have seen some benches of the more affordable 128GB version too! Aside from the more limited write speed, I wonder if the 128GB's performance would be lower in the Iometer workstation tests. If everything was equal apart from write speed, I would be tempted to use that as an OS+Programs+Games drive...
I wish Intel's next gen wasn't so far away - I have a feeling they might be slightly cheaper
£550 is a lot of money, but for a 256GB SSD it's about right, or at least consistent with other drives SSD drive in terms of cost per GB. Hardly any premium for the performance lead. If I remember right, the high end SandForce drive carries a rather big premium per GB over other controllers.£550 is a lot of money for a single 256GB SSD
I think it's because of different methodology, but there is a big difference in the 4K test between Hexus and Anandtech, especially when it comes to the non-aligned random write: http://anandtech.com/show/3656/corsa...is-very-good/4
Hi i was just wondering why you review is way different then:
legitreviews.com/article/1221/10/
benchmarkreviews.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=454&Itemid=60
hothardware.com/Articles/Micron-RealSSD-C300-SATA-III-SSD-Review
I wanted to upgrade to a ssd mainly for gaming purposes and off course booting quicker and overall boost in performance but based on your review the Intel x25m g2 ssd drive performs better.
legitreviews.com, benchmarkreviews.com, and hothardware.com all great sights using great testing methodology show that the crucial c300 ssd sata (6gbits/sec) even outperforms the intel x25e in some case and x25m g2 in most.
I need your help because your review is the only one i found showing these results. (before i spend all that money)
thank you :rockon2:
