Come on scott, its not the worlds biggest. That is not what market cap means :'(Now that it's the world's biggest technology company, Apple had better get used to its every move being closely scrutinised

well it did take me 9 minutes.
how about "now is the technology firm with the worlds largest publicly traded portion of equity" intrestingly 'apparently' there are a lot of non-institutionals who own APPL, plenty of every day folk (thou a sizeable amount probably Chinese). Compared to Intel this is rather fascinating.
The reason could be quite interesting is imho we are seeing many bubbles in technology, especially around mobile search which just aren't going to be as profitable as people really think, I just can't see how the revenue is going to be that great, compared to say content delivery if Murdock gets his way.

Nows the time for MS to provide Internet Explorer 9 for Mac and get them to allow it to be chosen via a browser choice screen...
We continue to strive to achieve the right balance between readable and fastidious.
Regarding the mobile search bubble - it's mobile advertising where the big speculation is these days, hence the grief Apple's getting. In-app advertising has the potential to be as big, if not bigger, than website display advertising.
Indeed, which is why I so seldom feel the need to berate you guys, but this one, this one does irk me, its like when someone flushes your toilet with the lid up..........
Yeah the advertising because they reckon that people might move to the add supported app platform, but that is minor compared to the speculation in the "location aware" searching, plus things like google goggles, i mean imagine holding your phone up to a street of restaurants and seeing reviews in real time appear. Then think what they could do with adverts
I guess I don't think been a dumb conduit is going to be a good position, its about having all the context. A mate of mine who was meant to cover certain web firms for a now defunct IB always found it amazing how facebook haven't capitalised on it as much as gmail. The amount of tailor-made advertising you could do, at the moment they don't have that higher click rate.
The iPhone could know everything about you, from reading your SMSs, emails, Facebooks and even tweats. Putting that on as an advert when you just want to play with the jiggly breast app has limited appeal. Putting something tailored when you want to grab lunch, the money to be made there strikes me as the bigger pot.
Despite what Murdock might do with the content delivery advertising.

Well, I appreciate the pun in the title at least
