I had always assumed that BSkyB was controlled by News Corp anyway! I was surprised to hear the offer had been rejected.
Waahhhhh? I was under the impression that NewCorp owned Sky already...?!
It makes sense it is a partnership as originally there was BSB (British Satellite Braodcasting) and Sky. Which merged to become BSkyB. If it had been an outright purchase by Sky the company would have been called just Sky. Or the channels and service would have been sky with the parent company being Newscorp, not BSkyB.
I thought it would have been more like 51%/49% though.
