Mixing an arcade button bashing game againts a more complex fighting game = FAIL.

Why? Won't it just give people the choice?

Nah, I think it would be pretty good. I think they will have a SF4 version and a Tekken version

well its going to be a tought battle to try and balance this game, I mean just look at marvel vs capcom 2, loved by many but imho the game is very unbalanced, (probabily cos I suck at it lol)

TBH street fighter isnt at all balanced, but if you hone your skills then you stand a fighting chance, i've lost count of how many times i've had my ass handed to me online by some of the most rubbish characters! i think this may well be the same, that or its going to fail badly

They are two complete different styles of fighting game. One is a button bash hadducken special feast and the other requires a bit of your brain to pull off some decent combo's. Also, How many tekken fighters have some kind of dragon ball Z type lightin bulb coming out of their hands/mouth/arse etc?

Like others have said, how are you going to balance that out? SF is an arcade game when only 2 buttons are needed and either a 90 or 180 degree movement on the stick gives you the ability to perform your special whislt in tekken you got to press kick twice then punch , then a 90 degree movement on the stick and then kick+punch at the same time to perform a special combo/move on tekken.

A much balanced game would have been virtual fighter vs tekken

So they just do what they've always done - make the easier-to-pull-off stuff less powerful than the harder-to-pull-off stuff.

no character alone is rubbish, while I will admit some can have certain advantages over another. Most people consider ryu or ken as the strongest characters (hence why they are played the most online) but that is simply not true.

Its an amazing idea and I can see both games being a massive hit, and whats great is for people such as yourself Josh who prefer the more complex Tekken control system you've got a Tekken X Street Fighter I'll give it a shot especially with tag combat.

i guess your right...but there is one character who is very slow, pretty much useless but still i guess if you get good with him! i main with ryu, not because i think he is the strongest but because i like his combos, they mix well

In SF, like a number of fighting games, you can choose to mash buttons, which will get you nowhere against someone who knows what they're doing - or you can learn how to play the game properly (which takes a significant amount of time and effort).
Obviously mashing buttons takes far less effort than using your brain, so of course you'll see a majority of scrubs doing just that.

Agree about VF vs Tekken being a better match for each other though.
