Would be v nice to see the 13.3" R630 reviewed.
If you are making a 17" laptop, why go for Intel onboard graphics?
Because not all desktop replacement users are gamers?
I'm not at all a fan of Toshiba's non-Pro Satellites - especially the gaming ones. In my experience they're poorly built lumps of overheating plastic with frequent reliability issues due to the monumental heat they produce and disappointing screens. Inside they're even worse, with the unlimited repairs needed (failed screens and hard drives) where the build quality goes from poor to atrocious - I'm quite experienced at replacing the bowels of laptops, but I don't think I've ever snapped off as many pins and clips or experienced such a fiddly interior as in these things.
This is no different. Yes it's got an i5 and apparently the heat is OK on this one (probably due to only having 1 chip to cool), but overall it's just not good value. Its big brother with the HD 5650 is available for £650. Only 3GB RAM, but it does have a faster CPU than this one.
Also... £600 for a laptop with 10/100 ethernet... 10/100? For the sake of what - probably £3 extra?
I always hated these things and nothing I've read here has changed that.
