    What - a - mess! If I wanted/needed a tablet within the next year I think I might get a Apple one. Android for phones is just about reaching suitability for mass market at V2.x, I wonder how many iterations for tablets (and devices that don't get updated) will it take to get it right.

    I've got to disagree with that. My 1.6 phone is absolutely usable and works well (I would desperately like 2.x for the new features but 1.6 does the job). Can't wait for 3.0 tablets myself - just hope I have the cash for one!
