I suspect the price drop will only be for the 470 here in Blighty, if it happens at all - the 460 is hardly a bad value card already.
With regards to the Fudzilla story - pah! I don't believe anything Fudo spouts anymore as he is clearly on Nvidia's payroll.
That said, if half of these rumours are true it's good news for the consumer.
I'm giving serious thought to twin 460's in SLI - i've got the itch to upgrade finally. I don't think the 470 is that interesting but I will have a good look at ATI's new cards before I jump.
Only downside with a two card approach is needing two waterblocks which is a chunk of cash on top.

Looks like price cuts have already been made. OCUK are selling 1gb 460`s for around the £150 mark and 470`s less than £200.

I think Nvidia already hold the best 'bang for buck' chip with the 460. It would have been nice to see the ati 5850 drop down to £150 mark. wonder what its 6 series replacement will cost.

Just to point out the price links are the wrong way round. The 460 takes you to the 470 and visa-versa

It seems that the HD6850 1GB will be around £150 and the HD6870 1GB will be around £200.
So those prices are cheaper than the current 5xxx series , yet yield more power... Really?
Well, indications and expectations are that they don't actually exceed the 5870 at least.

The prices were quickly listed on OcUK before being pulled.
Prices are up from 10pm on OcUK and they are £159.99 inc VAT for thr 6850 and £199.99 inc VAT for the 6870. Big pain coming for nvidia I feel at those prices...
Old puter - still good enuff till I save some pennies!
