Well... it's to be expected, Apples and Oranges and all that
Orange used to be awesome back in the day when they did the everyday 50 tarriff which I was on for over 3 years. However, their signal and quality went downhill quickly since that time and now I've been around the houses trying to get a good signal provider, with ample minutes and texts for a good price and i'm mightly impressed with virgin so far even after they decided to charge me for web access even though I've got a 1 Gb dataplan on my account.
It must be down to all the students on the network all after their Orange Wednesday free codes to fill the cinemas up mid-week
I must be the exception because out of all the networks Orange is the one I`ve had the best experiences with.
My missus has an Iphone on orange now and she`s happy
Agreed. My first phone was on Orange everyday 50.
I left Orange a year or so back because I moved house, and could not get a reliable signal any more, but I had been dissatisfied for some time. Their data charges are a lot higher than other networks, and the inclusive amount of data with their standard tariffs is laughably small. No wonder iPhone users are unhappy, as they especially will be transferring lots of data, and will probably get hit with over use charges a lot of the time.
Orange Wednesdays is worth while. I keep a spare PAYG phone on Orange just for that purpose. It gets a £10 top up twice a year, and I make the occasional call on it so Orange don't disconnect it, but other than that it never gets used.
I've been with Orange for 11 years with the same number. I've always been on PAYG. When I joined it was 5p / text message, now its 12p.
During the course of time I used to get 5 free text messages a day, this perk has now been dropped.
I was about to drop Orange when I got a company phone, now I have Orange and Vodafone, where one doesn't work the other does. But more often than not, its Orange that doesnt work.
Now I have a company phone, I only spend about £30 / year on Orange. I keep it because I have had the same number for 11 years and cant be bothered to go through the process of changing supplier.
There is one thing I do like about Orange, in 11 years they have never called me, sent a letter, or sent text advertisements :-).
Vodafone constantly call me and send junk to my work phone. If im in a good mood I'll answer it and waste the time of the operator for a cheap laugh. One day they will learn.
