I would have thought any working laptop under 4 years old would be worth more than "up to £125" selling it separately (often considerably more).
The 10" Version is already in stock at one good retailer that you might know off
Very true. I was looking at the price for trading in ipod touches for cash earlier today and a brand spanking new 3G 64GB sealed and boxed with all accessories.. came to <£100
I may sell a kidney or two to get one of these. (no my own obviousy)
Do you mean " though no 3G" not "though no 3D" ?

£399 for 7" and £429 for 10" is still too much...
Cheapest iPad is £429, its lighter and smaller that Viewsonic. 10" version is running Android 1.6 as opposed to the latest version and you most likely will be stuck on it like forever...
There is no mention of battery life though..
7" version is much more appealing but for like < £300 not £399...

I'm getting extremely fustrated by companies that can't put together a half decent Apple competeing product. How hard can it be!?!
We know for a fact that the margin on Apple products is huge and so why don't companies make a kick ass tablet, make a small margin and begin to grow a decent user base?

As much as you don't like Apple they bloody know what they are doing...
iPad was released few months back and sold in millions, everyone else plays catchup role with news appearing that X product will be delayed, Y product comes in Q1 of 2011 - its all too late I'm afraid. Apple got all them customers already so they won't go and spend the money twice. Matching the price had been hard as well not talking about having a kick-ass product beating iPad in every aspect...
Looking at your sig I can't resist to ask - are them products really that overpriced? I wouldn't think so. Samsung Galaxy tablet was supposed to be the nuts, only to find out its £500+

Yes, it was a smart decision by apple to release a half baked device (no camera, multitasking, GPS, USB etc) just to be the first to market... not sure why someone didn't do that with an android one too (would have been half the price and would have probably sold double).
I would be interested in a wifi only 7 inch android tablet at sub £400... but it would also need to have a decent res amoled screen... so I'm going to wait a long time...
I hate Apple for how they market their products and how people blindly follow them. Their products are actually very good (besides the general closed system model).
Samsung have clearly screwed up.
Apple products sell well regardless of price. How can anybody expect to sell products that are expensive when they know price is part of the thought process when buying a non Apple product?
Also, their products are overpriced when you consider competitor products... Most of which are very good.

There's going to be lots of competition in the Tablet marketplace this winter, now that Apple have shown that folks will actually buy them. It'll be interesting to see what the likes of Asus will do, but the one I'm watching with interest is the Notion Ink 'Adam' - looks like it can take on & beat the iPad for design and features, we just await the all-important price!
