For what it's worth, I've cancelled my pending order with Amazon, and won't be using them again.
The reaction in the US regarding the content of the leaks has been rather depressing.

<start reckless allegations>I can't imagine any private bot-net wanting to down wikileaks, there must be some controlled by governments (or private groups on the pay from governments) leading the DDOS attacks.<end reckless allegations>

I support WikiLeaks wholeheartedly. Poor Julian though, everyone is after his head

I was very shocked about the rape allegations!! Oh hang on a minute...
He probably has some protection in that if he's harmed, everyone in the world will know who's done it and won't be happy about it.
I understand Amazon not wanting to host it, it's a not-in-my-backyard thing - anyone who hosts it is likely to find themselves in trouble or risk having their network attacked. Although Amazon not removing that horrid book for a while claiming the democracy thing is annoying to say the least.

Re: News - WikiLeaks site moves again and Amazon justifies actions

This once again is the death of freedom of speech and information. I am truly angry at how governments can do this.

Not for one second do I believe that he is guilty of any of the rape etc allegations. It just so happens that after his first leak, when everybody's government is after him, he gets arrested.

Can the open source community not do anything to keep his site open. I mean if governments have trouble taking down p2p networks, surely there are some inventive coders willing to keep it alive. I hope Jullian remains out of custody. If several governments got him, we'd never see nor hear of him again. What do they hope to achieve, somebody else will take over the site. He must foreseen this and trained replacements.

Well I for one would be more than willing to help host his site and if any governments are watching this, good luck in tracing it because I am going through god knows how many proxies.
