Its cool to see a list that has no Call of Duty in there like the past few years!
Fallout NV is a very good game but it has been let down badly with bugs and conflicting quests (quests the conflict with other, none related quests due to bugs in characters etc)

I completely agree with ME2 getting number one - a truly outstanding game. I don't think I voted (don't remember seeing it anyway) but that's what I would have voted for. I'm also glad to see BC2 in the list, I don't think it's up there at the top and it's position is about right IMO. And I'm glad to see the latest overpriced CoD map pack has been left out for a change, maybe I'm not the only one fed up getting the same game over and over again?
Yup I voted for ME2 as game of the year. Well deserved winner.
ffs when and where could we have voted for this? anyways that list is spot on. glad people here in hexus have taste in games
i just bought ME2 for £10 so hope its good! just started playing ME1 after buying it last years steam sale for a fiver LOL.
buying ME2 made me continue playing ME1 hehe.
In a nutshell, is ME2 vastly superior to ME1 in everyway?
You get people saying either way so it's just down to preference really. They play quite differently, for example in ME1 you have unlimited ammo but guns overheat and take some upgrading before they become useful. In ME2 you do have to watch ammo but I never found it a problem, sometimes I had to switch weapon but there's usually some lying around to top up. I found the upgrade system interesting but tedious after a while in ME1, I think I spent more time on the upgrade screens than I did in combat. That's really been toned down on ME2 and I prefer it that way. Anyway, I think they're both excellent games, definitely up there with the best I've played if not the best. I don't want to give to much away so just play it.
I will say this though - the ending and the build-up did tug at the excitement strings more than on the first game, for me at least. And also, consider your actions - they can have quite a big impact on the ME2 story, more so than in ME1 IMO.

What a **** competition. No sign of Final Fantasy XIII as one of the entrants ???
They're great games. The gameplay doesn't change much in my eyes (well it changes, but not particularly better or worse).
What made ME2 better for me was the storyline - I thought it really upped the ante in ME2, and some of the choices given to the player were huge, absolutely gut-wrenching decisions to make.
Without ME1, ME2 wouldn't have been half as good. Doing anything other than playing them in order would be a travesty in my view.
Fallout New Vegas would be top 5 in any list, if it was finished....
sadly this is a game that is still extremely bugged with unfinishable quests more than 3 months after release
not good enough
sweet, im playing ME1 now. need to get to grips with it all really as it looks more complex then fallout games.
One thing i dont understand is the leveling up and how to assign points to specific abilities? How do you unlock or buy new poweres?
i think i may need to buy or read some noob guide to this game lol
Yeah it took me some time to get to grips with it so I spent the first bit of the game not really being able to kill anything. From memory, I think you go into the squad menu from the pause screen then you can switch between squad members and assign any points you've earned. Anything greyed out is usually unlocked by reaching a certain number of points on another skill. You just click on the bar to add points. There's also an equipment/items menu where you can equip guns, armour, etc and their associated powerups. It is pretty overwhelming to start with but you'll get used to it. It is important to upgrade yourself and your teammates appropriately though or you'll have a hard time killing anything or surviving past the first few missions.
Squad points are given to you sort of like experience points, you'll just gain them as you progress through the game and when you're in the pause menu, the squad button will flash to let you know you have some points. Items can be rewarded, purchased from shops or picked up from crates for example.
Totally agree with ME2! fantastic game and lovely to import my ME1 character and decisions. Also agree with BC2 - so much better than COD BO (No rip off map packs either - just vietnam expansion which was so different to original it was a bargain). Haven't played the others so can't comment.
