CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."

Re: News - Firefox dethrones Internet Explorer as Europe's most popular browser

    I actually quite like IE.
back in the day i used to ensure i stuck netscape navigator on after an install as i was very anti microsoft (you know, apart from their OS).
over the past year or 2 I've stuck firefox and opera on and have tried chrome but on this last install i thought sod it, i actually quite like IE.
maybe i'm just getting lazy, but i couldn't be arsed and have stuck with IE and am quite happy.
I think the main reason for chrome increase is mot just the brower choice they agreed to do (which is a good thing i think) but the advertising google do for chrome. on the way to work in manc (7 miles) i must pass at least 3 billboards for chrome. people remember what they see advertised wether they want to or not.

Re: News - Firefox dethrones Internet Explorer as Europe's most popular browser

Chrome is brilliant Mr Nibbler. I've converted at least a dozen of my friends to it as their preferred browser from Firefox users too.

If it was so pants why is its product share increasing, where as Firefox and IE are both on the decline.

Can anything stop the Google juggernaut, I just hope it doesn't end up steam rolling the competition. I can't see that happening however, as there is no killer app or function so to speak for a browser (Google Cloud/Chrome OS integration may change this) to entice people to switch on mass. Which browsers you use is mainly a personal preference, but the performance, better screen layout and its simplicity makes Chrome the best choice for me.

The Google advertising is already in follow me mode, although not sure if this is specific to Google Chrome. If I look on the John Lewis website for a TV, next time I am on, say the Sun website, there is a google advert for John Lewis, advertising TVs. It is all very clever.

I can see Google Chrome doing what Android has done to the smartphone market, come from nowhere and be #1 in record time.

ps. I do like the Chrome bookmark sync option, it ensures my pc, laptop and android phone bookmarks are all in sync with each other automatically. Not quite a killer app, but very handy all the same.

Re: News - Firefox dethrones Internet Explorer as Europe's most popular browser

Currently I am on firefox, I have tried the other big 3 none of them seemed as good.

As mentioned before Chrome does seem to be pushed with advertising and I have seen a few installers try to install it if I didn't untick a box, I may be muddling my memories but I am pretty sure the java update I did tried to install Chrome.

So how many are accidental installs? (along with the dredded tool bars)
