    I want my free games.

No doubt they'll be budget games, but I'll still have em.

Hopefully these won't be games that have already been available to plus subscribers.

I'd rather they implemented a decent security system. But, hey! Free games! Hopefully PSN will be back up this year!

Depends on what games they are. I just want PSN up so I can claim my Portal 2 PC copy!

Re: News - PSN update: Sony to dish out two free games to those affected by downtime

So we get mugged off with a couple of platinum games or more likely a couple of downloads. You know what, I'd MUCH rather just get free identity theft protection like the US users. So much for Sony doing their best to protect us. Seems to me that Sony Europe is only interested in protecting themselves and the US user base (probably because they're spooked by the 'house of reoresentatives' and they know the Euro governments couldn't care less, so they can get away with less over here).
Sony, you know what ? You suck.

Probably won't be anything decent, stuff I wouldn't download anyway even if I had the money.

Let me guess: "...and to claim your free games just log in to your PSN account and provide a valid credit ca...godDAMMIT, George!"

Seriously, though, some crook might have screwed your credit rating, maxed your card(s), tied you in knots trying to get your finances straight again, but don't worry, a couple of remaindered downloads'll sort you out...

If i was in charge of Microsoft/Game right now - i would do a price crash or epic trade in deal for ps3's when buying an xbox 360! think how many disgruntled ps3 users are considering a switch right now over this?

Not that many really - who want's to pay a yearly fee to play games online

The free games is a good way to compensate - assuming that is for ALL PSN users and not just PSN+ users..playstation + is a pretty useless service so giving me a month's free trial is useless. Couple of free games however is a much better way to compensate me.

because of course the free games will be a great comfort while a Nigerian is taking out loans and credit cards in our names.

I'll be really pissed off if they don't give us the same sort of id theft insurance they're giving the US people.

I believe its has been confirmed that sony will provide some sort of cover (not sure what exactly) . However they stated that with so many different countries in th EU it will take them a bit longer.

In the UK you don't need this "ID Theft Insurance" anyway - it's practically worthless as your bank will cover you for all losses, and there is no way that it can protect you or your credit rating..all that ID theft insurance can do is take over the burden of writing to the credit agencies for you to clean up your file - something that would take you all of 5 minutes to do.

    Only about 12 million people...

Although I am firmly in the free to play market, can't help but notice nobody complains about the xbox live service...least not that i have read...well apart from
How many of these 12.5 million people aren’t jerks? That’s all I want to know.
    sums it up for me...
