    Wouldn't that be counter-productive though? People who are familiar with the Pentium brand may well think it's Intel's high-end stuff and make a buying decision based on that.

    Nah people are more likely to spend what they can afford or what they expect to pay for a pc. It's intel, no need to doubt that they know exactly what makes them the most cash.
