when are we going to have a model that vents hot air from the case....

Arctic seem to be peddling the same old idea.... just bigger, and not necessarily "better."

+1. My worry is that this might be patented... although my memory is that Arctic themselves used to do it.
Also, $65 (£50??) seems pretty steep... i can't imagine this being justified on anything less than a £200 card. Oh well, horses for courses i suppose.

Most stock coolers on high-end cards do it so I don't see why not. But the centrifugal fans used in those coolers do tend to be louder and in a well-ventilated case the extra heat shouldn't be too much of a problem.

AC's new products are based on adding more fans.... what happened to good old days of passive cooling ?

Re: News - Arctic beefs up GPU cooling

I don't think a heatsink that exhausts hot air is efficient enough. There is also the problem of noise, as mentioned before.

Over all I think the exhaust design, while elegant and practical, isn't able to achieve the amount of heat dissipation that these Arctic Designs manage. Even though the hot air remains in the case it shouldn't be that much worse than extra ambient heat given off due to less efficient cooling.

Re: News - Arctic beefs up GPU cooling

I would be interested if it was dual-card only....but I am guessing it's like their others and makes the card into a 3-slot.....and they don't seem to tell you that anywhere that I can see, yet still mark it "SLi and CFX" compatible.....which while true, in a lot of boards would make SLI and CFX impossible.

Wish Gigabyte would do Windforce coolers for other cards....
