I still can't believe this will work out well for Apple - cutting off nose to spite face comes to mind. However, if I was Samsung I'd just stop supplying them with A4 and A5 chips and enjoy them having no products!
Old puter - still good enuff till I save some pennies!
Frankly apple are so clearly in the wrong on this one it's not even funny.

At the very least there's a pretty strong likeness there to the sgs/sgs2/tab that should be more than enough to shut this case down pretty quickly.
If anything if the points Apple raise are worth sueing over, it really should be Apple on the receiving end...

Enjoy cutting off an enormous revenue stream? Yeah, I bet their shareholders would really enjoy that!
Ah, the Samsung F700. I had one of those. I don't know if Apple copied it, but I do know that it was an exercise in how not to make a touchscreen phone.
Why would they pull out? With the volumes Apple ships, it must be an enormous money spinner for Samsung. Pulling out makes no sense at all. It makes no difference that the companies are involved in unrelated litigation. Companies of the size of Apple and Samsung are pursuing lawsuits all the time, even with firms they're happily trading with in other aspects of their business.
Not that relevant - it's prior art isn't it - in which case Apple fails.
Something I saw about this:
First they ridicule us,
Then they fear us,
So they sue us,
But we win!
Seriously Apple need to get a grip - far better to win in the market than in the courts. I'm getting less and less impressed with them.
That said, the other litigant in the story - Oracle - I never had much respect for to start with.
Question - weren't Apple suing Creative similarly a long, long time ago over the interface for the old Zen/Nomad HDD MP3 player, claiming that it was too similar to the iPod's control wheel-based UI (which, by the way, I still think was the best idea)? If so, I never heard how that turned out.
Hahahaha I completely understand the financial implications, but it would also screw Apple completely. It's a dog eat dog world and crApple need someone to stand up to them...

Looks like Apple have now filed the same complaint against Samsung in South Korea, Samsung's home ground. Apple must believe they have a very strong case against Samsung to take a step like this.
