cheers Hexus team, i remain with fingers crossed that come Sept I can order an N9 on contract.
I can't make my mind up when it comes to this phone... on one hand it looks like a nice piece of hardware, intuitive OS, clean and minimal. Other hand I keep hearing it's all doom 'n' gloom for the actual platform it's self.
Meh.
Well for the Operators its a given that they will overlook the N9. All the WP models will be locked and customised to suit the various services that they wish to push onto their customers. Perhaps MS will have a nice marketing budget to help them make their decision easier
Personally I have put an order in with Expansys for a 64Gb N9 as a replacement for my N900.
As regards the platform? have a look at what the Maemo community have managed with the N900, the core apps that anyone needs will be supplied as std: Voice, SMS, Browser, Mapping, Email, Media Player & Social Networking. With the exception of the browser and mapping, these already probably still at or near best of breed for any mobile in the market right now with the N900 especially with regards integration of contacts with social / voip using the main Conversations app.
If you need to have 20+ apps to feel that your mobile is useful then you are probably looking in the wrong place
