Turn 10 will of course be happy to let others use their exclusive licenses on the X360 won't they? Oh, apparently not. You can't withhold rights from other publishers and then moan when someone does exactly the same thing to you. Poor, Turn 10, very poor.
Is this why there were no Porsches in Gran Turismo 5?
All sounds like a complete load of rubbish to me, more licensing crap which harms the consumer.
WHAT?
To use a car in a game, you need to pay certain parties? That will just drive up the cost of a game!
All the big brands do it - Ferrari, Lambo, Porsche, FIFA, FIA, NHL etc. - take money from publishers for exclusive deals and control the use of their brands. From their point of view it's partly making sure they aren't associated with naff things, and partly money made of the brand subsidises (a little) things for their customers.
It's just amusingly ironic that Turn 10 are complaining when they do the same thing as EA.
It's damn stupid - patents/licenses and such are meant to promote competition and benefit the consumer. Now greedy companies just use them as a license to sue and stop competition if they can't win fairly, nothing to do with benefiting the consumer any more...

its a shame, we arent going to be playing SHIFT as our console "mainly sim" out of choice with GT and Forza around, and this kind of behaviour will only lead to resentment from the hardcore - it wont win converts.
oh and kalniel, what are the forza exclusive car brands? i cant remember

Apparently only small brand names like say.. Ferrrari.. (and probably some actual small brand names as well). The exclusivity is limited to the X360, so Ferrari might be able to license other games on other systems, but it seems not X360 without Turn 10s permission/existing contractual exception.
That messed up TDU2 at the last minute because they thought they had bought a license for the inclusion of Ferrari, only for them to discover fairly last minute that turn 10 didn't allow them use of the 458.
Seems very unlikely we'll get a decent game with Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche (the latter are my personal favourite), unless the license comes with something else, like a race series. But I like the road cars too.
Any company that pulls a stunt like that deserves to have the favour returned TBH. Pity about how few proper race sims there are to choose from though, and I'm guessing this rubbish has a lot to do with why...
yeah black mark for EA with this.
perhaps people should boycott their games if you dont agree with their policies!
It's a shame that you won't be able to drive a Porsche in Forza (or Fourza, haha.... I'll get my coat) but hey, look on the bright-side. You get to control Jeremy Clarkson!
