Character animation and scale is all wrong, it's keyframed not moccapped. But valve often show work in progress stuff and then on release it's infinitely better. It will have to be if they want to compete with BF and MW

LOL at the cross platform play. That's going to be hilarious watching all those xbox kiddies getting smashed and crying about their negative K ratio ... can't wait.

Those graphics look erm, I just don't see the point myself.

No mention of changes to game play.... Its basically 2000 still.

There is a reason for that, when its been done in the past not very good PC gamers kick the crap out of high skilled console gamers who are not on keyboard and mouse.

Re: News - Counter-Strike: Global Offensive screens and trailer

Ball dropped...yet again, whats the point? Its kind of like Halo 4 - unnecessary.

Could well be a half-arsed offering unless they drop it, start it from scratch using the next generation Source engine that Valve are surely saving for Half-Life: (Episode) 3 at which point, they can then bundle it for free in some "PWNAGE Box" package much like they did with Team Fortress 2.

Personally they should have added new gameplay altering things like aiming down the sights, more weapons, customisable weapons, a sprint function, perks, kill streaks....getting a sense of déjávú...

I know what you're saying but its unthinkable to add them (apart from more weapons if you must and sprint could be good).

Adding Aiming down sights, no just no... if it has a scope then yes (look at the awp/scout/auto sniper), customisable weapons? Asking for imbalance, perks imbalance again as CSS is all about skill and now about how much you can no life the game.

I hate COD(after 2) so dont want yet another series trying to emulate that "experience", CSS and CS 1.6 were and still are bloody awesome and COD just looks like a childs game in comparison, graphics imo are onpar (except textures, thats poor but look at the age of css and compare to cod...) CSS has some physics!

The game has no real balance issues, if you're crap at the game you're punished and if you are good at it then can get extra cash and get better weapons. Tactics pay a vital role in CSS due to money, if you just spawn with the best gun best armour then its just no tactics.

Only Battlefield gets away with this as its a different genre but i hope to god Valve look at why CSS was so god damn good and not look at COD. I will end up buying this game thats a given as im an epic fan on css and still play loads (SC2 and CSS are the games i play) but from the videos the graphics hardly been updated (some parts even worse...) and the new maps are ok but you see the remake of de_dust2 at the end and it just looks like a half assed effort as everythings in the same places just different textures.

    TLR

IT LOOKS LIKE ITS TRYING TO COPY COD, fail.

Are you one of those who used to post a review on Amazon before a game was actually released?

I don't normally like nitpicking at an entire post but I find it quite annoying when people judge something so prematurely...and because of that...I'm going to nitpick at your entire post.

Firstly - Halo 4 unnecessary? We by all rights don't actually know ANYTHING about Halo 4 except its the contiuation of Halo 3. Which was very open ended. I know it seems cool to hate the Halo franchise nowadays but I would love to know how you got to this conclusion from a 2 minute teaser... please: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TC2yMKMENdg
If you can read from that teaser anything that says "im going to suck and im not needed really" then I will concede your point. Otherwise I will wait till 2012 to make an opinion on it. Much like...

    CS:GO - Release date early 2012.

So did you watch the video? Let me help you...

CS: GO features new maps, characters and weapons, and delivers updated versions of classic Counter-Strike battlegrounds such as Dust, Inferno and Office. In addition, CS: GO will introduce new gameplay modes, matchmaking and built-in leaderboards.
or if you watch from around 25 seconds you will see essentially what is above. Which includes many many new features. Non of which you have been able to try yet. Because there is no Beta yet. But somehow they have dropped the ball on a game which still has about 6months worth of development yet...

As someone else has already posted - I completely and whole heartedly disagree with killstreaks and perks and all that - because by putting that into CS - you are getting a déjávú of COD with different branding. Although saying that CS is about skill is probably a little far for me (the amount of times you get killed by some numpty shooting your toe with an awp drives me crazy) - it is the more strategy based gameplay which makes CS so good. And turning it into another COD clone is just an epically bad idea. Leave all that with COD (since it came out - the CS community doesn't suffer nearly as much from the knobs who love to ruin everyones fun since they all play on consoles now).

I do agree the graphics update is so-so, but that doesn't bother me much. It's a step-up...sure but not mind blowing - and I would prefer it that way. Graphics lag is not something you want when in a middle of a firefight. Plus they have the ability to revamp the graphics onto the new source engine when its available.

That would give you 84 damage.

CS:S is about skill its about knowing your maps, about understanding what other people are going to do and when. Its about staying when you should and moving when you should.

It was an over-exaggeration. Unless you have taken 16 damage.
