Oh dear.
90k accounts?
Probably all the people who trusted sony enough to sign-up again....
oh ffs, i get this JUST because i own a flipping PSP. Time to cancel my card AGAIN, i dont trust Sony to come out and say " Sorry all details were stolen, cancel everything asap" as it will hurt them even more. Shame as i have a good few preorders at a decent price and i think if i change card it will be cancelled
Why all the concern?
They have tested a variety of account names and passwords, probably the ones that have been previously stolen, to see if they work. There's absolutely sod all Sony could've done to stop people doing that.
If your password was changed, then you should be fine?
How do you know the email address hasn't been changed to another by the hacker?
Go back to the original email....what about legitimate customers that have removed old emails and did actually change theirs?
Once a system was compromised in the way that PSN was I cannot see any way to get it all going again.....at least without wiping EVERYTHING out and starting from fresh.....and even then, all Sony PSN customers have been compromised. Full names, addresses and date of births......that's way way way too much info in hackers hands for my liking.
If I wanted to use it again I would setup a complete fictitious account and use PSN store cards......and I was one of the lucky ones, not long before PSN was hacked I had moved, changed my phone number and had all new replacement cards...
