I'm really hoping there more like caspian border than metro... Metro is all right (I liked rush on BFBC2) but caspian was fantastic on the beta.
Does the game or Origin still have that clause in the EULA where they have the right to scan and store etc your entire computer? Or did they back down?

Noshahr Canals looks exactly like one of the COD maps
I've not tried the beta so I dont know anything really yet, but from those images... Looks immense.
Seen images from all the maps and they do look amazing. I think there is a good variety too. Not played the beta either but will be pre-ordering this week.
This post from EA Forums is probably what a lot of BF1942 players are thinking:
"Battlefield 1942 had 14 maps with full vehicle loadout and up to 4 different plane types"
Not to mention, land, sea and air vehicles all in one map!
I did enjoy Metro, but I think it should be part of a spin off series as it isnt what BattleField players expect. A map without vehicles =
@AGTDenton - I'd go as far as to say theyre trying to entice the run and gun crowd from COD with the beta - the full game will be where its at for the BF vet's
whatever happened to news stories stating their sources ?
this and more updates about BF3 can be found at http://blogs.battlefield.ea.com/
1942 had such little detail and variety in their maps. in BF3 you not only have maps with immense attention to detail but they are quite unique in that they are multi-layered - this was evident in metro where you had first the open park area, then the tunnels, then the parisian streets"Battlefield 1942 had 14 maps with full vehicle loadout and up to 4 different plane types"
Not to mention, land, sea and air vehicles all in one map!
also, Caspian, Noshahr, Kharg, Firestorm, Tehran Highway and Damavand will all feature vehicle warfare, not to mention several unique features such as vertical progression to bring more to the table than just a map with opposite sides
and what about the classic maps for those that pre-ordered, looking forward to karkand and wake? again. Any images of those.
I really enjoyed metro due to the multiple play styles, the vehicles sometimes ruin it, as you they often become a focal point for poor team play.
I only played Metro and I thought it was pretty good - I liked the variation in the 3 segments of it in terms of how you approached them.
I've not pre-ordered, but tempted too because of the bonus maps (although I bet they become free to all 1-2 months down the line anyway).
