Re: News - Best Buy UK Clearance Sale

Me and a friend went to the Hayes store today, expecting some sort of mega-bargains.
Truthfully, despite the huge number of people in the store, it was more like a 'January sale' kind of thing, and some bargains not what they seemed.
Eg 25% discount off a 16GB USB stick... RRP £45.

Still, my friend did want to buy a Blu-Ray player with surround sound, and got a nice Panasonic unit with 20% off, that brought it down to £240 (the same price that Amazon sells it for all of the time).

I'd say that if you prefer to pick something up than have it delivered, then its worth it - however you're not going to beat any online prices if you are used to shopping around.

Best Buy Clearance sale is not that great you can still pick up the odd bargain but most of the stuff is cheaper online, it also seems that most high street electronic companys seem to be struggling to compete with online stores.

Retail has been far less cost effective for many years. Now that credit is less available people are far more compelled to be smart with their money.

I went to see a band at the O2 last week and BestBuy adverts were plastered everywhere. Perhaps they are making a secret comeback.
