As you say, when we've got quad-core Transformer Prime's hitting the streets soon(?) then this looks a bit "thin" to say the least. Big thumbs up from me for the uSD and especially the USB expansion. Got both with my current Transformer, and both have proved most useful. The ICONIA packs an NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core 1GHz processor and 1GB of RAM, as well as a gyrometer. It also hosts a fairly large 10.1 inch screen with a 1,280x800 resolution. Other features include a USB port for hooking up other devices, a MicroSD slot and a 2 megapixel front-facing web camera for face-to-face chats.
Not impressed with the "social integration" necessarily - think most big name devices do that pretty competently these days. Failing that dive into GMP and there's probably "an app for that".
As said in the article the key point is the price - if they could do this around the £200-250 mark then they might shift quite a few via the usual outlets. Only thing though, being an Acer, is it going to be built to last and will the documentation be up to scratch (had two Acers and both were shockingly flimsy and bereft of anything more than basic setup instructions - the lack of a "service manual" especially galling)?
£200 max for a "new" Tegra 2 tablet, surely? The tech is pushing a couple of years old now, and tablet simply don't shift in volume at higher prices than that unless they have an Apple painted on them. A tablet with no better specs than my phone? Only if it's cheap...
