Is it me or are Samsung try to confuse everybody by releasing as many designs as possible at the moment? I've got to be honest I've no idea what their current models are any more apart from the S2 and Galaxy Nexus. While its nice to have choice I'd rather they concentrate on the software of the existing models more? i.e. ICS on a few more models.
I agree but I also have the same issue with HTC and most of the others.
Too many models with no clear price, feature or name differentiation.
Not only do the names not reflect the features, they also vary across regions. Add to this that the features can vary across phones with the same model name in the same region (e.g The HTC Desire can have an OLED or S-LCD without any name change).
Agree .... Joe Public does not have the time or indeed the inclination of picking up catalogues from orange, phones 4 u, t mobile, virgin, vodaphone, all containing glossy pictures and confusing "SOON AVAILABLE" sending the person into a mind boggling frenzy of which one to get or wait - or upgrade,,,,
HTC, and arguably Android as an OS, is successful because they flooded the market with handsets to the point where it was almost impossible not to buy a HTC phone. Samsung is clearly following suit. Sadly it's a case of quantity, not quality, with one or two exceptions.
@leonkehoe: I'm on a strict diet of French bread. That's just how I roll.
I dunno, I think Samsung are one of the better phone manufacturers when it comes to models and naming. Apart from their low end stuff, I am clear on the Ace, Galaxy S, SII and now M lineup.
HTC (a gazillion models) and Motorola (million different droid, bionics etc) and even LG are much worse imho.
I also think this M sounds perfectly positioned and of interest to me. SGSII is beautiful but I can't justify £500 for a phone and Ace is a bit weedy. Quite frankly 1GHz single core is enough for smooth UI, multitasking and all but the most ridiculous of games. But then it gets other 'high end' features instead that I prob couldn't afford otherwise - 4" AMOLED screen, dual cameras, 720p video... lovely.
My 800MHz Acer S120 is enough for my needs now but I would love a little more than the 3.5" screen...
Please bring it to the UK Sammy!
can you put some quotes round 'good looking' as well.
