If it's anything like the Optimus 2x then you'll need to wait 12 months, root the phone & install a 3rd party rom in order to get it working reliably. LG = great hardware, poo software

Same for their TV's and Blurays players. Great hardware, not very good software support.

Wonder what the actual sales figures were for the original LG Optimus 3D, I thought it was a flop and was surprised to see LG bothering with a follow up.

Beat me to it - I too thought the original LGO3D was a flop - certainly judging by the number of them appearing in "special offer" deals at CPW and P4U. I'd appreciate someone explaining what the big deal is with the 3D on a phone though - just sounded like a needless gimmick to me.

Whilst heaping scorn on LG, I'm not that impressed with the monitor of that brand I bought last year either. No VESA mounting, nor auto-input switching neither - and abysmal vertical viewing angles rounds off that particular mud pie. Heck, if I could find an easy way to get a couple of £££ for it then I'd trade in/up in a heartbeat.

I will defend LG hardware. We got a free 22" TV with a phone contract that is of very high quality, since then we have an :
LG direct drive washing machine - again very nice and good for a washing machine
LG 3D Bluray, works very well and one of the few that stream files over DNLA like it claims.
and recently a LG 3D smart TV, which after much tweaking is working very well.

I think LG are pretty good and they seem to get some stuff right, just not mobiles.

You'll probably still end up with an LG screen though.

Sony Bravia and home theatre system for me which - as you say about your LG gear - are now working well including streaming stuff from my NAS.

Got an LG Direct Drive washing machine too - very expensive, but darn does it work well - and the little tune it plays at the end of a wash still makes me smile. Well done LG!

Still hate my LG monitor though, it's still a p.o.s. imho. Next time I'm going back to Viewsonic.

Surely you at least knew it didn't have VESA mounting from the description? As in, if it mattered, you'd surely check?

I didn't check at the time - was in too much of a hurry to get a replacement unit. That said, it's not a deal-breaker as far as I'm concerned at the moment.

On the other hand the lack of auto-switch on inputs and poor vertical view angles are a real pain. Maybe I can persuade SWMBO to get me an early birthday present (not likely because "you've already got one that works").

So I guess I'll be looking for something with a good refresh rate, DVI and HDMI inputs (VGA as well would be nice) and autoswitch in a 23" size.
