That would be awesome
Would love a set of AR glasses similar to the ones in transmetropolitan. Allow you to take pictures of what you are looking at quickly and also the idea of the AR stuff for finding places in town would be a great instead of having to hold your phone up like a muppet
Keep doing it google!! get in with Oakley as well and make them look cool
Pr0n whilst chatting to the gf ftw!

I just want Terminator Vision mode... Oh and "Bikini Mode" - has to be easily toggle-able though, don't want it on in the office... *shudder*
These'd be great if they were tied up with (Siri style) voice command. Think it'd be cool to be able to go into (for example) B&Q, look at the barcode on an electric drill and then search to see if it'd be cheaper to buy in Argos and/or Homebase.
Or sci-fi style "identify this person" - for those moments when you know you've met a person, but can't remember what their name is.
I don't know if I'd want this for general purpose applications. It might be cool for specialist things like turn by turn navigation while cycling, or a skymap type app. But google generates money through advertising and the last thing I want is an advert popping up telling me I'm 300m from McDonalds while I'm driving, maybe thats a silly example but the last thing I want is advertising popping up in my field of view all the time. At least with a smartphone you can stick it in your pocket and ignore it.
They don't have to put adverts up, they could instead put in paid landmarks - e.g. if they got sponsorship from McD's then your route display could automatically put in icons for store locations you were going to pass. Still might make things a bit of a mess, but less than having popups all over the place.
The Googles appear to have earbuds too - so maybe that'd be a "better" way to deliver advertising - i.e. in the form of commercial radio-style advert breaks. Or add the ads into the driving directions, e.g. "In 800 metres turn right .... feeling hungry? then why not pop in for a big Mac at the McD's you are .. 900m .. from"
Note, I'm not saying this is a GOOD way to do things, merely suggesting another way that Google could obtain their revenue. And if they're really on the ball, offer a subscription service that is either totally ad-free or where the commercial messages are much lessened.
