Well, they just opened an office in Bristol and are on a recruitment drive here... so yeah, they're probably on the up and up.

This article made me notice that we don't get share price updates any more
    What made that happen?

The new ARM Mali chips look great, equally though, the Power VR 6xxx series looks to seriously shake things up towards the end of the year as well with even bigger performance claims.

They're in the same building as me right now, although they'll be moving up to Aztec West before long I think.

Can they make some desktop graphics card and show the big boys how they do battle?

Where's the money in that? Billions of embedded chips ship every year...

What makes their tech work so well in the portable segment is their tile and caching systems, allowing the GPUs to function well at low power, they'd likely have trouble scaling this up, though progress is being made, NVIDIA and AMD are starting to pick-up pace again, with each new generation from now on looking to be much faster than the last. It's not a market worth them breaking into, though as GPGPU computing becomes more important, financially there could be incentive if the GPU becomes as key as the CPU even for office use.

Not a desktop GPU, but aren't the newest Intel GPUs Power VR? (This may be incorrect, but mildly amusing if true. Intel gave up after all?)

Larrebee was supposed to be their big desktop GPU entry but it never happened.

They did 15 or so years ago now, there chips punched way above there weight by only rendering what could be seen they produced higher fps that theoretically much faster 3dfx cards. They went toe to toe with the big names for a little while before nvidia and amd copied the z culling feature and that was it power vr was consigned to low power and efficient applications only
